The Iran Connect How-to Wiki is a project that is developed from the grassroots, by people who want to share some aspect of their experience as Iranians. The goal of this project is to facilitate communication between people who share a goal of creating greater understanding between Iranians, and people who want to learn about Iranian life, customs, and culture. It is a How-to instruction manual for those who are living or have lived in Iran, and for people working with or interested in working with Iran. The intention of this project is to create a connection between people who share a respect for the Iranian people and culture.

For Iranians returning to Iran: How does one obtain the title to property that is under his or her name? Where on earth do they begin to do that research, or find out where to go? Otherwise, they may end up in Iran, faced with the tumultuous task of going from one government institution to the next. Perhaps they want to know how much it costs to rent an apartment. They have not been there in years, and they are desperately seeking to find a way to go back. Where do they go to find out? How do they do it? Is it expensive or cheap? What part of town is most in their price range?
Sharing this information and collectively editing it online is a communal task. Plus, one person does not share the same knowledge as everyone else. We all know things that other people do not know, and vice versa. With this wiki, the collective knowledge of the group will far surpass that of any individual.
